Brother QL-570 Label Printer

We bought this product at an after Thanksgiving sale. At first I was unsure if we needed this product, but the reasonable price tag was too much to resist. The Borther QL-570 is an compact stylish label printer that is geared towards daily business use. Normally priced at $99, it was an absolute bargain for a little less during the special sale.

As an added bonus the printer connects via USB to both PC and MAC computers. The lightning fast thermal printer pumps out single line labels in less than a second, or 68 labels per minute. We were impressed by the P-Touch software which allows users the flexibility to take snap shots and import logos to create highly professional mailing addresses and office labels. Furthermore, the machine features an automatic feed and self cutting system that precisely measures each and every printed label.

2008 Pontiac G6 GXP

Alot has been said about the American automobile industry. Some of it has been true, while others are merely unfounded generalizations. No matter where you stand when it comes American made cars, Detroit has been producing better cars as of late. As such the 2008 Pontiac G6 GXP is no exception.

It is important first differentiate the 3.6L V6 GXP model from the standard GT 2.4L V4 engine. The V4 engine is all about economy and not performance. The GXP boasts 252 Horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque. The extra power provides extra passing response and power when needed. When we tested the G6 earlier this month we were pleasantly surprised with the stiffer handling and solid handling, while the all disc braking system provides strong stopping power.

Additionally the sleek and sporty European design is very eye catching. The lines are sharp and aerodynamic tight body design makes the GXP the most attractive cars GM has produced in recent memory. The interior cabin and backseats provide enough leg room while the truck is spacious enough for large cargo. Our driver was satisfied with MPG, egonomic steering wheel, night friendly red dash lights, and premium sound system.

Furthermore the radio volume automatically rises when the RPM's increase, thereby masking engine noise when accelerating past cars on the freeway. As with all new GM cars the ONStar system is a great feature, however the lack of an on board navigation screen is somewhat disappointing. Yet the cornering ability, low profile, and powerful engine make up for this deficiency.

Overall we like the stylish body design, smooth cornering ability, strong engine, interior cabin set up, ergenomic steering wheel, sleek racing pedals, good sound system, roomy back seats, tire pressure alert system, and dashboard lights. GM has managed to produce a nice mid-size car both inside and out, just stay clear of the basic and standard models. If you are in the market for a Pontiac G6 the GXP is the model of choice.

HOMEDICS Hydragel

HOMEDICS has developed a reputation for delivering quality products that range from messaging chairs to ergonomic pillows. As a rule of thumb, when a product boasts the HOMEDIC name you can be sure it will be a hit. With that said, when we received the new Hydragel Messager as a christmas gift we were very excited.

The Hydragel Messager is a handheld personal messager that features 2-speed control for relaxing or invigorating message. In addition it also has a dampening system which isolates vibration to the massage head, and a soothing heat system for a more relaxing message.

While reviewing this product one main factor quickly jumped out. The heat message feature, which is the sole differentiating characteristic, simply does not work. The red "heat light" turns on, yet the heat is non existent. Fearing a defective unit, we replaced it for another one but the results were the same. Needless to say this was very disappointing at best. HOMEDICS has created a less than effective product and the Hydragel is to be avoided.

HP Officejet J6480 All-in-One

We got our hands on HP Officejet J6480 All-in-One printer during an after Thanksgiving sale. As a former Officejet 5700 series user, a number of aesthetic upgrades became quite evident. First and foremost HP has bundled many user friendly features into a slightly smaller and affordable daily office printer. With a price tag of under $200, this printer appeals to home offices, and small businesses looking for an economically priced performer.

Secondly, the new angled 50 sheet auto-document feeder allows for ease of scanning with fewer paper jams. Additionally the built in 802.11g wireless feature can connect to any wireless network for hassle free printing.

Furthermore the new features include double sided printing, auto-document feeder, Optical Character Recognition scanner; painless 802.11g wireless setup; excellent quality text, graphic, and photo prints. The energy saving features draws less energy when operating in stand by mode and is more green friendly than previous HP models.

While there are many enticing features, there are also some drawbacks. It would be nice if HP integrated a larger full color menu screen. The current blue screen is much brighter than the previous drab green screens, however the addition of a touchscreen would have truly rounded this product out.

Overall the HP Officejet J6480 is a solid everyday that is ideal for the small or home based business. The economical price tag and various functions makes this a recommended choice for any office manager or business owner.
